Labor of Love

Labor of Love (Andrew Peterson cover)

This is my friend Melinda.
This is her pretty self.
Enjoy.

I sincerely hope all of your Christmas' were wonderful and blessed. I'm in Tennessee as I write this, visiting family. I get to sleep with a golden retriever tonight. If that's not exciting, I don't know what is.

Okay, Melinda, I've seriously listened to this song about 6 times now. Goodness, you should just sing for the rest of your life. I'm sure no one would mind.

Because of break, I have been watching manya episode online. Now, time and time again everyone and their mother has been all up in everyone's business about Doctor Who. Frankly, I'm terrified of the series. It's HUGE and a maassssive undertaking and largely fandomed. Do any of you watch it?

Because starting Doctor Who intimidates me to the point of curling up in a corner, I took on a newer series, Up All Night. An easy eleven episodes. And it's SO good. Will Arnett (Arrested Development) is awesome. You should watch it.

I've been doing some Parks and Rec, too. Such a good cast.

Also, Bachelor starts in a few days. Can I get a shameful, "Yeaahhh!?!" I have no Bachelor buddy this season. Please be there for me, guys. We can hate all the same people. :]

What shows are you watching right now?

I need to get back into the swing of things. Time off makes me funky. And gives me headaches. Why is that even a thing?

My blogs are boring. :[

Blog redeeming pretty pictures!

  1. Your friend's voice is beautiful! I agree, nobody would mind if she just sang forever.

I want to start watching Dr. Who as well, but I don't. There are soooooo many episodes. It's frightening. I've been obsessed with New Girl. I'm not going to stop talking about it until everyone I know has watched it. I highly recommend it.

  2. If we knew each other in real life, I'm pretty sure we would be best friends.

Parks and Rec = LOOOVVEEEE. Same with most Thursday night NBC shows (except Whitney and that weird drama they had on for a while). But Parks and Rec, Community, 30 Rock, and The Office are some of my all time favorites.

I love Doctor Who. So much. I just started watching it in September, when I started from the first episode of the reboot (on Netflix). It's taken me until about a week ago to finish everything there is on Netflix, and now I'm fishing the internet for the episodes from the latest season.

I would highly recommend it. It's a little slow the first few episodes, but it picks up quick and you get hooked. But it's not a show you feel bad about taking a break from for a little while, so it's not like you have to sit and watch every single episode in one sitting.

And I totally know what you mean about the Bachelor. I hate that I love it, but it gets so ridiculous!!!!

    Happy holidays. :)

  3. I LOOOOOVE Doctor Who (not Dr. Who lol.. His name isn't "Dr. Who," it's simply "The Doctor".. Sorry. Picky point of mine =] But I still love you!!!).

I've only seen the past two seasons with Matt Smith as the Doctor ("Series" 5 and 6), but I downloaded the first series with that Eccleston dude on iTunes. I've also heard that David Tennant was an amazingly awesome Doctor as well (series 2-4). Like Abbie, I just started watching within the last year, and it's the best thing I've done with television. Ever.

Also, the past six seasons (sorry.. "series"... weird Brits..) are really the only ones you'd need to watch, and there are only 13 episodes a season. Plus the Christmas specials. So it wouldn't be THAT bad to catch up on =]

I also agree that you must definitely watch Community. =]

  5. First of all, this video is beautiful. I've been watching Melinda for months and she is fantastic, I so love it when she does covers! Also, on the topic of Doctor Who: WATCH IT. It is my favorite show in the world and it is brilliant and hilarious and sad and wonderful and amazing. I know it's really long, but it goes by very fast. I watched it over my spring break last year and managed to finish it in that week because I couldn't stop watching.
Just thought I would give you a helpful nudge in that direction. =)
Shows I'm watching right now, since Doctor Who is over for the season, are How I Met Your Mother, Once Upon a Time, New Girl, and Modern Family. Addicted to them all. =)

  6. Also I agree with Abbie; Doctor Who does start off a bit slow. I was halfway through the first season before I picked it back up and finished it all at once. But once it grabs you, you can't get enough.
