I really like you guys. With that being said, hello to all my new friends. It's nice to meet you! I know for a fact at least a few of you are here thanks to Lex. She's cool, isn't she?
Others of you may be here from Googling these key phrases:
So, welcome skink lovers and free tampon enthusiasts! Unfortunately, you will probably not find what you are looking for on either of those topics. Oh, stat tracker. You prove to me so many awkward things.
Yesterday I dyed my hair:
(it's reddisher. silly webcam.)
And received my glasses in the mail:
It's that time of the year where everything just becomes unappealing. You get sick of winter and sick of wearing the same winter clothes for the past 4 months. Things get out of hand and people get lazy. Hair spazzes out (no money to cut it) routines get tested (begin to master the 5 minute morning) and stores start selling warm weather things (tricking your brain into getting ready for change now!) So, what else do you do when you feel impulsive, are itching for change, and are bored on the weekend? Well, the answer to that could be a lot of things. But we dyed our hair.
My glasses, like I have previously mentioned, are from Warby Parker. I can't say enough about this company. The concept is similar to Toms Shoes, in that they donate a pair of glasses every time you buy a pair. But this company has the best customer service I have ever experienced, and they're CHEAP! $95 a pair, which includes frames and lenses. Free shipping, free home try-ons, free returns. They even call you personally to make sure everything is okay. Also, on their Facebook page they're super responsive and give awesome advice on any home try-on pictures you post. My brother has this list of companies who have their act together. This company should be on your list, Aaron. Here's Their Story.
A friend introduced me to their fairly new company, and I can't thank him enough. He's the same boy, ironically, who introduced me to Toms. He's kind of one of the more hispter-y hipsters I know. I wonder if he reads this. I think he might. Hello, friend. Let's hang out sometime.
Alright, welcome all, I'm excited to get to know you guys, and I hope you're having a lovely weekend!
Reason to be thankful o' the day: getting an entire pot of coffee for $2 at Perkins.
Story pertaining to last blog:
Last night I was watching a movie with some people I just met and one girl said, "I had this professor who went to movies by himself, can you believe that? I couldn't stand that! He also said he used to work at Disney World. He's weird."
Facepalm.

your glasses. I want them.
ReplyDeletenot only is winter unappealing, but so are other things I've always loved, like my haircut and my glasses.
I want summer, please.
Loove the stat tracker.. and the blogging community as well. I have met so many great people these past few weeks as connections have been made. It has been simply inspiring.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to reading your blog! =)
I went to see a midday screening of one of the Twilight movies with my sister once. There were a couple of middle-aged men in business suits in there, on their own. That was a little weird.
ReplyDeleteI do wish it was socially acceptable to go to the movies on your own though. I'd see so many more things!
Also, rangas FTW!
aww I totally agree about the blogger community! it's so encouraging and fun and creative!!! btw, love your hair!
ReplyDeleteYou can get glasses by mail??????? I have to look into that!
ReplyDeleteThat company sounds fantastic! It makes me wish I didn't just get glasses before I left for school. Harumph. Anyway! Your hair looks super cute, and you're totally right about the blogging community. Almost everyone writes because they just need a place to vent, and people respond because they care.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me happy. :)
Your hair and glasses look amazing!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that you're powering through the late-February/early-March/pre-Spring Break quarter-life slump. Spring/Summer will be here soon!
I 100% agree with basically everything you said about blogs. I also feel like it's easier to share more of your thoughts and feelings on a blog than on Youtube. It's harder to share those things when people are watching you. For me it's easier to be honest.
ReplyDeleteFor me this is the worst time of the year. Everything just seems so depressing.
I love blogger. And that's all I have to say about that.
ReplyDeleteI hate winter. And that's all I have to say about that.
And I love your hair. It's soo cute! And the stat tracker is hilarious. And I love Toms Shoes. And I love reading your blog. And I love your glasses. And whoever said that about that man makes me want to punch things.
And that's all :)
