4.4 My Jesus rose!

"My Jesus rose (my JESUS rose) on Easter *clap* Mooorning.
He came to sing a love song, he came to be my friend.
When he returns (when HE REturns) in all his *clap* GLOOOORY.
He's gunna find me singin', and his love will never end.
Never end. Neever eend."

Christ is Risen, He is Risen Indeed!
Happy Easter, everyone. I hope you had a wonderful day, and that all the people you care about wished you a Happy Easter as well, because this is what people do. Anyway, I have a few things to say about this Easter.

1) Apparently Jesus is not the only one who rose today. I know for a fact I attended the Easter bunny's funeral this summer. We sang. Pooh bear, Christopher Robin, and other special guests spoke in his honor. It was all very sad. However, HE WAS STILL PRESENT during this Easter season. I'm on to you, bunny. I'm on to you.

2) Holidays are sneaky when you're in college. I have just decided this. They come with little warning, and end in a snap. However, this may just be how I feel because I used to work in a department store. Working in a department store forces early exposure (usually MUCH too early) to federal holidays. At least I can experience the benefits of the season though, rather than just the day!

3) Speaking of the Easter bunny's funeral, Easter week at camp was fantastic. I hope we have it again. Singing Easter hymns at breakfast, having a creepy bunny stalk children all week long, spray painting rocks to pass as easter eggs (and reprimanding any kid who points this out) to have a camp wide Easter egg hunt, and killing off the Easter bunny (and making everyone to wear black for the funeral, which was actually somber) is just plain fun.

Easter. What a great holiday. Thanks, Jesus.

Side note: Did you guys see Hayley's blog from yesterday? She usually averages around 50 comments, but as soon as she asked the readers to talk about themselves, she's sitting at over 500 comments in one day right now. Comical. Oh, humanity.

Second side note: Oh! Elizabeth, Shaq is a very very very famous basketball player in the U.S., so the fact that he's randomly placed in an Owl City music video is funny to me. :]

Rad: Matthew 28:6
Unrad: Writing papers on Easter.

(WHAM! It's not even 10:30 yet! Check it!)

  1. 1) Apparently I need to read more Winnie the Pooh.
    2) So true. The last six weeks have gone by in the space of, like, three weeks. I think being busy does that.
    3) I like the spray-painting-rocks idea. Especially if anyone actually fell for it.

Side note 2) Haha, oh ok. That is rather odd, then.

    Happy Easter!

  2. I agree, holidays are kind of lame in college.
For me, it's not so much the lack of exposure as it is the being-away-from-my-family. So many of the build-up traditions we have we do as a family, and I can't really do them alone and by the time I get home they've been done so I miss out.

Regardless, Easter is a wonderful day, and I'm glad to hear you had a good one! (Other than the paper. Blech.)
